FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR JAMES R BRYAN SATURDAY
James R Bryan, 61, died at his home here at 6:10 Friday morning following an illness of several months.
He was born in Richmond, Missouri, and on October 20, 1890, was married to Miss Laura B Stewart in Fairbury, Nebraska. He moved with his family to Exeter 19 years ago.
Funeral service were held from the local Methodist church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with the Exeter Odd Fellow Lodge, of which Mr. Bryan was a member, in charge, being assisted by Rev H V Moore and Rev W M McLearen. Burial was made in the Exeter cemetery.
The survivors include the widow, Mrs Laura Bryan, five daughters, Mrs Glenn Cowan, Miss Maude Bryan and Miss Pauline Bryan all of Exeter, Mrs J W Roth of Hesperus, Colorado, and Mrs Lawrence Peebles of Los Angeles; three sons, Lester Bryan and Walter Bryan of Exeter and Clayton Bryan of Ridgeway, Colorado.

Death of Mrs. William Vaughters,
The death of Mrs. Mary Vaughters, widow of the late Wm. Vaughters, occurred at there residence on the West Side, Thursday morning at 4 o’clock, after a brief illness. The deceased was taken sick last Sunday evening with a chill, and her ailment developed into typhoid fever, and although previous to this enjoying the best of health, the fell destroyer rapidly toll on her. Her maiden name was Bryson, and she was married to Wm. Vaughters in 1850, being his second wife. Five children, Richard, William, Carrie, Sherman and Ella, blessed the union and survive the mother. The deceased was an excellent lady, led an exemplary life, was a consistent Christian and her untimely death is deeply felt in the community in which she lived. The remains of the deceased were interred yesterday by the side of her husband, on the family burial ground.
